Little Ones Magazine Article: Unconditional Friends: Local Puppy’s Story Inspires Friendship and Acceptance

Little Ones Oct/Nov 2013

Check out this link for a story about a 2-year-old puppy who lives with disabilities, but is using those to bridge the gap between children with disabilities and typical children. His story, Bean is Born, and the work of Charlie and Sandy Petrizzo at Project 2 Heal, are examples of innovative goodness.

I have been quite fortunate to work frequently this past year with Little Ones Magazine and when the editor offered me another assignment – in an area that I have zero experience withย – I was intrigued and challenged. Putting the piece together was an exercise in mental gymnastics as I attempted to find the best angle, include theย most useful information, and give due credit to an inspiring story. Special thanks to my husband, a first-rate editor, who was a huge help in organizing huge chunks of information and paragraphs.

HOLIDAY GIFT IDEA: If you are interested in purchasing the book for a young one in your family, the proceeds go directly to Project 2 Heal and support their work. The link for the book is here.
